Burlwood

Burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner. It results from a tree undergoing some form of stress caused by an injury, virus or fungus. It yields a very peculiar and highly figured wood, prized for its beauty and rarity.

I am excited to say we are having a custom bed made from old burl cabinet doors! We recently purchased a king tempura-pedic mattress when our current queen bed started folding up like a taco and burrito'ing us in the middle of the night! We couldn't take the restless and sleepless nights NO MORE

Burl can be an amazing adjective and statement to any room if done right and stained correctly. Here are some different burl species from box elder to maple.

Let's just say we're not keeping it natural or traditionally stained!

Momma's Birthday!

My beautiful Momma has gracefully turned the BIG 50 today!
Growing up as a kids, 50 meant it was the day of " one " depressed human being realizing that life was headed towards the deep end with no return.. UNTIL ...  I met my beautiful mother-in-law who looks not a day past her twirling-twenties and is a smoking hot patottie!!!
She's the woman I strive to be.. Not one day.... but TODAY~
She's beautiful. smart. amazing. sensible. adventurous. driven. spontaneous. well-traveled. athletic. educated. and the best mother a 'girl could ask for!
Love you Momma!
  Happy Birthday

Love you Mom!
Thank you for being so amazing and such an influential woman and leader in my life! You've taught me to trust God and his plan for my life...to love my husband and wake up daily with a refreshed perspective of how amazing each and every waking second is!
xoxoxo...

Jamie Young

Growing up our grandmother taught my sisters and I the basic sewing skills of threading a needle, knotting, and simple embroidery techniques. I've recently been head over heals for the new Jamie Young pillows we received at the showroom- and have been inspired to get back to my sewing roots. I just purchased my 600-stitch Singer that I'm excited to dive into today and learn how technology has gotten the best of me! Along with my 8"hoop and about 30 different thread colors to go to town and embroider my day away!

Here are a few of my favorite pillows that are absolutely stunning in person and will help spice up any room and decor! You can find more beautiful inspirations at www.jamieyoung.com

The little things...

How often do we wake up to a routine schedule without appreciating the very small things in life that really shape and make who we are and what inspires us to grow? I'm guilty of this quite often and strive to set aside some time each day to reflect and see those remarkable little details!

Gal. 6:9-10

"Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose hear. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith."
