The "Farmhouse" Master Bedroom

My lovely sister Kim is getting married in the spring; and amongst planning her wedding, she has a hefty To-Do list in the farmhouse her fiance just bought. It is a gorgeous white house with original moldings, early 19th century wallpaper, a front porch stoop with a large picture window & stain glass in the living room. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of work to do in the house...
Just to name a few: Tear down the ugly ceiling panels,  remove three+ layers of aged wallpaper, paint every room, gut the bathrooms, rip up the carpet & of course decorate.

So I am trying to help out the best way possible living on the opposite side of the country...with pictures! They are turning the "Hidden Room" off the upstairs bathroom into their Master Bedroom(Genius) - and her goal is to achieve a country-cottage'esque feeling; with white or cream walls & splashes of color. The entire space is floor-to-ceiling old wood panelling. So here goes; these are currently the ideas & direction we're taking...

White, simple, serene

Creme with a splash of color

A mono-chromatic "neutral" palette

Quilt bedding to bring in color

White with red accents...

Love the red metal frame against the creamy walls

Maybe butterscotch is the way to go...

I like the whitewashed walls with the varnished hardwood flooring

Cream bedding with a colorful rug

This feels so warm & cozy

Great textured bedding with simple cream panels
You'll have to wait til' Spring to see the Before & Afters...

A "NY" Kinda Day..

So a lot has come & gone since my lasts post. I celebrated my 26th Birthday, enjoyed a weekend with my hubby and my beautiful mother-in-law, went to New York to expand the fashion accessories brand I'm working on, and am now wrapping gifts for the Holiday's and getting ready to take off for Montana.
Here's a few shots that make me fall in love with the BIG city everytime!

Message Boards

"Your conscience is one of God's many message boards in your life"

After reading this I not only decided I needed to de-clutter my thoughts to really be able to distinguish the truth of my sub conscience and what God is speaking into my life; but decided it would be fun to find some of my favorite "Message Boards" and ways I could become a bit more organized in my daily routine of life in the home & office!

The Perfect "Soaker"...

As the seasons change into winter jackets, Christmas carols, hot cider and warm bubble baths…I figured I would post some of my favorite “On-My-Wish-List” bathroom tubs. There are so many options for the perfect “soakers” I couldn’t pick just one.  I would say my dream home would have a classic claw foot tub with a lovely stool for my books and an aroma candle lit- but after seeing all these beauties it is so hard to decide…

Happy Oct. 31st

Today is the day kids roam the streets to fill their plastic pumpkins with candy! Since we won’t be receiving doorbell rings at our place this evening and have opted out of dressing up in costumes; I’ve decided to eat all the skittles & snickers I want for this special occasion…
Happy Halloween!

“Frankly Friday”

Happiness is a choice that you make. It does not depend on your circumstances.
Every day is worth celebrating! As I grow in my marriage, as a wife and life partner, I try to embrace each day and recognize its full potential. I am so blessed everyday to have a wonderful supporting husband who I adore and admire! The other day my husband and I stopped at this fabulous showroom called "Bon Bon" and found some amazing pieces. I could have spent hours looking and gazing at all the beauties. Til' Next time..(or just more time without the hubs to distract me)

I loved this little twin...

Amazing lighting to intermix in my dining room
(Yes Please)

Who's the Handsome Man waiting patiently for the beach?

I'll take an R & J please..

The hubs was trying to talk me into designing the bedroom with the ENTIRE matching set
(I just want the bed)

Couldn't take my eyes off this rustic beauty

When I buy my beachfront I want the sandy neutrals and navy blues!

The showroom was filled with apothecary & old medicine canters..LOVE

Have a LOVELY weekend!!
