Tis' The Season
It's starting to look like Christmas around here...
This year we kept the tree looking a bit more natural with the DIY burlap garland, collected acorns, and recycled paper & twine for the gift wrapping.

Nursery Room
When designing a nursery room and the sex of the baby is "unknown"... stick with color palettes that will transition easily and work for a boy or girls room. This color scheme is soft and soothing, using different shades of gray and cream; yet playful for the little kiddos.
Find a great area rug that will anchor the room and give a bit of pattern and detail to work with. Bring in a little splash of color :: In our case we used a fun poppy yellow for the changing table hardware, a fun fabric for the crib skirt, and a little side stool next to a cozy chair!
Have fun planning and don't be afraid to make a statement

Noir
In my blogging absence a lot has happened in the month of November. Obama has been re-elected, my mother came to visit, Thanksgiving has come and gone...but most importantly the launch of Noir by Porcelain Black has made it's debut and we are taking orders!
Here are some of my favorite purses you can get here...

Sequoia National Forest
I can't describe how amazing this past weekend was. We packed up the car with a few essentials: flashlight, tent, wood, a frying pan, a cooler for two, (hand sanitizer for the germ-phoebes that we are) ...filled up the tank and headed to the mountains! I now know why they call California the Golden State. The hills were singing $dollar$ signs, the sky was clear and full of life, and the open plains were covered with lush vegetation that feeds the greater population.
In two short days we put on over 800 miles on "daisy" and recharged our internal batteries for another beautiful week. We headed north and drove up to Sequoia National Forest & Kings Canyon.. for a weekend of hiking, camping, fires, shooting stars, rivers, and the most breathe-taking views I've ever seen!
