Brass Is Back

It is and has been all over the design world the past year...and I am LOVING all things Brass. The mix of your grandmothers antique brass flatware to a beautiful polished gold chandelier over a modern table. Intermix different colors and textures to re-create a space that has a classic and sophisticated appeal.

These are a few of my favorites as I design a home inspired by brass end tables, fixtures, and hardware. You can achieve a similar look at a low budget by hunting through the attic or rummage through a good thrift store; buff out a few years of dust and grime and give those dated pieces life again!

The Modern'Vintage Home

I grew up loving antiques, refinished furniture, and gilded moldings! But I also married someone who loves white walls, high ceilings, and modern architecture. When I seen these photos from HouseBeautiful, I fell in love with the modern details and vintage flares throughout the entire house that both myself and husband could enjoy! I adore how they paired crystal chandeliers in every room with subtle tone-on-tone hues, gold framing, and a neutral color palettes ...Perfecto!

To Banquette....Or not Banquette?!

My latest client is in need of a banquette for her seating area...I'm debating between that or a settee- since she only needs it for casual "bar" seating with scattered cocktail tables anchored with zebra print chairs! (classic)
To banquette...or not banquette ?!

"Barbara Barry"

To Me... Barbara Barry is the Audrey Hepburn of Design. She is beautiful, classic, inspirational, graceful and extremely talented in her work! She is continuously surprising me with her poise and vast array of products and designs.
She has created everything from furniture, fragrances, textiles, wallpaper, kitchenware, tiles, and beyond. To name a few- she has designed for Henredon, Baker, Kravet, and Ann Sacks.
She is by far my absolute favorite Interior and Furniture Designer! I hope to one day step into her shoes...
