While it was predicted on Groundhogs Day an early Spring this year; I can't help but be inspired by all the colorful flowers that will be popping up soon! I love how an arrangement can brighten up a space and enhance a room's presence...spice up a vignette, inspire a painting, fabrics, pillows, porcelain dishes!!! Oh how the list goes on and on.... I love FLOWERS!

We need to know and understand that life is not for us to uncover - but to discover. To keep moving forward and figuring out what we are here for - why we were given what we have and to discover what we need to do to unleash our talents and become who we were intended to be.

Brass Is Back

It is and has been all over the design world the past year...and I am LOVING all things Brass. The mix of your grandmothers antique brass flatware to a beautiful polished gold chandelier over a modern table. Intermix different colors and textures to re-create a space that has a classic and sophisticated appeal.

These are a few of my favorites as I design a home inspired by brass end tables, fixtures, and hardware. You can achieve a similar look at a low budget by hunting through the attic or rummage through a good thrift store; buff out a few years of dust and grime and give those dated pieces life again!

Nursery Room

When designing a nursery room and the sex of the baby is "unknown"... stick with color palettes that will transition easily and work for a boy or girls room. This color scheme is soft and soothing, using different shades of gray and cream; yet playful for the little kiddos. 

Find a great area rug that will anchor the room and give a bit of pattern and detail to work with. Bring in a little splash of color ::  In our case we used a fun poppy yellow for the changing table hardware, a fun fabric for the crib skirt, and a little side stool next to a cozy chair!
