Linen

lin'en (n): textile made from fibers of the flax plant. Linen is a very durable, strong fabric -aging beautifully with time and becomes softer the more it is washed. It is relatively easy to care for, since it resists dirt and stains and has no lint or pilling tendency. Linen can wrinkle easily but nevertheless, is often considered part of the fabric's particular "charm"...

I'm excited to design my clients' home this week with slip-covered dining chairs, linen sofas & chairs, sisal rugs and neutral color palettes.

Designer Pads for Paws!

Last night we had a successful turnout for the PAWS charitable fundraiser event we hosted At Hom. For more information about this wonderful orginization and their mission
in San Diego visit www.pawssandiego.org

I was one of the designers who participated in creating a custom pet pad for auction to raise money for the organization. My inspiration behind the bed was to create a multifunctional "up-cycled" bed that was aesthetically pleasing and yet a statement piece for any home. I purchased this beauty at a local thrift store...sanded, painted and lightly distressed it for a complete make-over. Along with building up the base to create a cozy pet hideaway in a fun striped fabric with new drawer knobs from Anthropologie. I think our Lila-Mew would have enjoyed this little home!

Here is the very happy winner of my "pet-pad"...Congratulations!

Detailing ...

I believe good design is in the details. Whether it's for the home, accessorizing your wardrobe, playing up your office, reading a good book, cooking a dinner for two, or throwing a celebration...Create little gems that will be remembered. These are a few beauties I'm day dreaming about that add a touch of interest to the everyday!
