My lovely sister Kim is getting married in the spring; and amongst planning her wedding, she has a hefty To-Do list in the farmhouse her fiance just bought. It is a gorgeous white house with original moldings, early 19th century wallpaper, a front porch stoop with a large picture window & stain glass in the living room. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of work to do in the house...
Just to name a few: Tear down the ugly ceiling panels, remove three+ layers of aged wallpaper, paint every room, gut the bathrooms, rip up the carpet & of course decorate.
So I am trying to help out the best way possible living on the opposite side of the country...with pictures! They are turning the "Hidden Room" off the upstairs bathroom into their Master Bedroom(Genius) - and her goal is to achieve a country-cottage'esque feeling; with white or cream walls & splashes of color. The entire space is floor-to-ceiling old wood panelling. So here goes; these are currently the ideas & direction we're taking...
White, simple, serene |
Creme with a splash of color |
A mono-chromatic "neutral" palette |
Quilt bedding to bring in color |
White with red accents... |
Love the red metal frame against the creamy walls |
Maybe butterscotch is the way to go... |
I like the whitewashed walls with the varnished hardwood flooring |
Cream bedding with a colorful rug |
This feels so warm & cozy |
Great textured bedding with simple cream panels |
You'll have to wait til' Spring to see the Before & Afters...
