I Gotta' Feeling on "Leap-Day"

Lately I cannot stop daydreaming of opening Bej'kreations. It has always been a dream of mine and a shared promise between my siblings that someday we would open a boutique. It will be filled with every day odds & ends, home-made goodness, custom furniture, unique pieces and a full design showroom right at your fingertips. It sounds so easy...It's all there in my mind.. I just need to make it a Reality!

Over the years the vision of the store has evolved and changed a bit - but the feeling is still the same. I put together a little "Feelings - Board" to remind myself of how I want the store to feel...

Free Yourself

Somedays you just feel inspired by what's out your front window, the people you passed by on the street, or even an old photograph of someone you don't even know. For all the many little inspirations in life; take time to reflect and see the beauty in your day!

The Home Wish - List

To a long over-due post that my husband keeps nagging about; I decided to make a current wish-list for him! Primarily my taste applied- I  did add a few things that he would agree we need in our humble abode verses just the ever-so occurring want list...

We pretty much need a whole new Bedroom...I'll be happy with a few pieces.
- Noir Poster Bed, Michael Weiss Night Stand, Cococozy Window Treatments,
Robert Abbey Lighting -

Our living room is pretty much the walk-way between the dining area and our bedroom.
It currently has no lighting and needs a beautiful area rug & coffee
table to anchor the space.
- Surya 8x10 Rug, Michael Weiss for Vanguard end table, some new coffee table books,
and lastly...A record player -

To the non-existing Dining room...where everything is missing.
- Robert Abbey pendant chandelier, 40"Rd. table from Noir, Vera Wang dishware,
linen upholstered chairs, Surya Rug -

The room that is meshed together where everything happens. The Kitchen/Office.
- Chrome counter stools (which we just purchased), Surya Runner, Robert Abbey Pendants,
A small server, Noir metal desk, New desktop computer, Acrylic chair,
and of course... a juicer -

The "Farmhouse" Master Bedroom

My lovely sister Kim is getting married in the spring; and amongst planning her wedding, she has a hefty To-Do list in the farmhouse her fiance just bought. It is a gorgeous white house with original moldings, early 19th century wallpaper, a front porch stoop with a large picture window & stain glass in the living room. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of work to do in the house...
Just to name a few: Tear down the ugly ceiling panels,  remove three+ layers of aged wallpaper, paint every room, gut the bathrooms, rip up the carpet & of course decorate.

So I am trying to help out the best way possible living on the opposite side of the country...with pictures! They are turning the "Hidden Room" off the upstairs bathroom into their Master Bedroom(Genius) - and her goal is to achieve a country-cottage'esque feeling; with white or cream walls & splashes of color. The entire space is floor-to-ceiling old wood panelling. So here goes; these are currently the ideas & direction we're taking...

White, simple, serene

Creme with a splash of color

A mono-chromatic "neutral" palette

Quilt bedding to bring in color

White with red accents...

Love the red metal frame against the creamy walls

Maybe butterscotch is the way to go...

I like the whitewashed walls with the varnished hardwood flooring

Cream bedding with a colorful rug

This feels so warm & cozy

Great textured bedding with simple cream panels
You'll have to wait til' Spring to see the Before & Afters...

A "NY" Kinda Day..

So a lot has come & gone since my lasts post. I celebrated my 26th Birthday, enjoyed a weekend with my hubby and my beautiful mother-in-law, went to New York to expand the fashion accessories brand I'm working on, and am now wrapping gifts for the Holiday's and getting ready to take off for Montana.
Here's a few shots that make me fall in love with the BIG city everytime!
